Comments on Balloon Sinuplasty May 2008

These are comments published on balloon sinuplasty in the European Archives of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery covering the development and practical applications of balloon sinuplasty performed with flouroscopy. Balloon sinuplasty using the transillumination technique without flouroscopy was introduced in Singapore in July 2008 and warrants further evaluation.

I am a clinical demonstrator in the Balloon Sinuplasty courses held at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery University of Marburg, Germany.

Paranasal Sinus Anatomy Radiologic, Endoscopic and Anatomical Correlations

Detailed anatomy of the paranasal sinuses is illustrated using Tri-planar CT views obtained from Image Guidance Protocols. These are correlated with operative endoscopic views and with sagittal cadaveric dissections.
The illustrations are a part of my MD (Doctor of Medicine) submitted to the National University of Singapore and accepted in September 2006.
This booklet, published in 2007 by Endopress Tuttlingen, Karl Storz Company, is distributed free by Karl Storz Company as a service to the international otolaryngology fraternity.
